Guo Ming Xiang was born on July 16th in Guangzhou, one of China’s most prosperous and modern cities. His family has a rich history in entertainment and athletics. Guo Ming Xiang trained as a gymnast from his early years, initially studying under his father’s guidance before being selected into the Chinese army’s gymnastics program.
Because of his natural athleticism and aptitude toward entertainment, Guo was selected to train and perform with the internationally renowned China National Circus. He quickly rose through the ranks of the troupe, going on to win the coveted Golden Clown at the Monte Carlo Circus Festival.
After reaching the peaks of the circus world, Guo Ming Xiang decided to follow his passion for performing and pursue his passion for acting. He attended Beijing Film Academy where he studied acting, directing and producing.
After graduating at the top of his class, Guo Ming Xiang found instant success in Chinese television and cinema. He quickly became known as one of China’s most diverse actors, easily transitioning between drama and comedy. Guo has also appeared in numerous international blockbusters. His true passion lies in smaller budget, independent art films.
Guo Ming Xiang is most proud of the work he continues to do with students at the Beijing Film Academy. As an invited guest professor, he mentors young and up-coming actors and directors, challenging them to push past the boundaries of Chinese cinema. Guo feels that he learns more from his students than they do from him.
